Chavutti Massage

Chavutti Thirumal translates as “foot pressure” in the Malayalam language and is a traditional Indian massage technique developed by the Kalari Martial Artists of Kerala India (Kalaripayattu) and is considered to be approximately two thousand years old. Chavutti Thirumal is unique as the feet are used to deliver the treatment.

Chavutti Massage

It was developed to aid suppleness in the body; with the therapist holding onto a rope for support, the foot has the greatest potential for continuous rhythmical strokes, perfect to iron out any tension. It is a full body massage with the practitioner able to work in long, sweeping therapeutic motions from fingers to toes.
